Founded in 1991 as the Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth (ROSMY), Side by Side began with a simple belief: LGBTQ+ youth deserve safe, affirming spaces to belong. For 35 years, Side by Side has grown alongside our community and shown up for LGBTQ+ youth in Richmond, creating safety, affirmation, and belonging when it matters most. Springtime brings our community together to honor that legacy and invest in what comes next—uplifting youth voices, celebrating joy, and ensuring LGBTQ+ young people continue to be supported, seen, and empowered for generations to come.
